[Solved] Help Needed! Sorting Dubai POA & Maybe Will from Abroad?

Hi everyone,

I’m an expat living outside the UAE but own an apartment and have a bank account in Dubai. I need to appoint someone trustworthy there using a Power of Attorney (POA) to manage things for me, but the process looks really confusing, especially doing it from overseas.

Can anyone recommend a reliable company in Dubai that specialises in handling POAs for non-residents? I need someone who understands the whole attestation process. Also, while I’m sorting this, I’ve been thinking I should probably get a Will sorted for my Dubai assets too. Do companies that handle POAs often help with things like Wills for expats as well?

Any advice on reliable service providers or the general process for handling these legal documents from abroad would be really appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello,

We understand completely – navigating UAE legal documentation like Powers of Attorney (POAs) from overseas can seem daunting! We’re POAPRO Dubai Power of Attorney, and we specialize in assisting expats exactly like you with these processes in Dubai.

You’re right that there’s a specific process for POAs signed outside the UAE, involving legalization or attestation. Generally, it involves:

  1. Drafting: Preparing the POA document according to UAE requirements.
  2. Notarization: Signing the POA before a Notary Public in your current country.
  3. Authentication/Apostille: Getting the document authenticated by the relevant authority in your country (e.g., Foreign Office, Department of State).
  4. UAE Embassy Attestation: Attestation by the UAE Embassy or Consulate in your country.
  5. MOFA Attestation: Final attestation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) here in the UAE once the document arrives.

The good news is, you don’t have to manage this all alone.

POAPRO Dubai Power of Attorney provides comprehensive services specifically designed for non-residents. We can:
  • Expertly draft your Power of Attorney to ensure it’s compliant and covers your specific needs.
  • Guide you step-by-step through the notarization and authentication process in your country.
  • Handle the final, crucial MOFA attestation for you once the document reaches Dubai.
  • Offer related essential services for expats, including assistance with Wills in Dubai, ensuring your assets are protected according to your wishes.

We have extensive experience dealing with all relevant UAE government departments and pride ourselves on offering reliable, high-quality, and affordable legal services. Our team understands the unique challenges expats face and aims to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible.

We’d be happy to offer an initial consultation to discuss your specific requirements for both the POA and potentially a Will.
